At the conclusion of the 1977 I.V.V.C.C. Autumn Rally in Galway a few enthusiast motorists, got together with the idea of forming a vintage motoring club in the West of Ireland.

The date was September 4th, 1977. Gay Brennan chaired the meeting and before long Tommie Tuck R.I.P. was elected chairman, Owen Quinn Hon. Secretary, Emmett Boyle R.I.P. Hon. Treasurer, and the committee comprised of the following members: John and Tom Connor, Joe Cann, Mary Tuck, Thomas Healy RIP, Kevin Leahy and Malcolm Alexander, who was elected President, thus was the W.V.V.M. Club formed. Ireland West Tourism hosted a Press Conference to launch the Club and many notable motoring enthusiasts from around the country attended. Even enthusiast car owners from abroad joined the Club.

The Club has in it's 34 years achieved considerable status throughout the country and abroad. Over the years the club has been involved in many parades, festivals, and rallies, and has supported many charity events like Amphicat, Cancer Care, Share-a-Dream, contributed to various social occasions and participated in other Classic Car Club events.

Today, thanks to the present committee presided over by Pat Conacur and Frank Mullan, the Club has grown from 50 to almost 200 paid up members owning a great variety of rare and beautiful vintage and classic cars.

We always welcome the motoring enthusiast and should you require any further information about our club please contact Frank Mullan at  This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it
