On Sunday 11th October, 2009, the new Ballinasloe and District Vintage Club held their Inaugural Run and Parade in conjunction with the final weekend of the Annual Horse Fair. Over 80 cars, 60 tractors, a number of stationary engines, machinery and horse drawn vehicles took part.
The Run left the Ballinasloe Cattle Mart at 1pm in glorious sunshine and travelled towards Kilconnell to Nutfield Cross, turning left and thence back to the main Galway/Ballinasloe Road. After a brief stop on the hard shoulder at Mackney to regroup, the assembled vehicles drove into Ballinasloe town weaving their way through Society Street and Main Street and then around to Dunlo Street by the Shearwater Hotel to the reviewing stand. After the parade all the vehicles were parked on the streets to give the public an opportunity to view them.
